I took this photo as the sun was rising and changing some of the rock to the red glow, that is so beautiful in the desert here. I only noticed the weird sky later. Not only are the clouds crazy, but there are also those incredibly bright white clouds, that look like blown out highlights on the photo, but was even present in my underexposed photos of this five shot bracket. Maybe somebody can explain that.

As sometimes happens, it initially didn't look like much was happening last night at sunset. Until I looked behind me. This was actually what was happening east of where I was standing. Always look behind you when you are doing landscape photos. Often that is where the action is!g
