We found this little critter when we landed at the Painted Hills on Anna Creek Station. It couldn't have beem much bigger than about 10cm. I don't know what it is, but it looks a bit like a gecko. It is again amazing to see how well camouflaged it is.
There are an estimated 300 000 feral camels in Australia, doing enormous damage to the environment. They are the descendants of the camels imported to use on the Ghan railway and in the Outback, transporting goods everywhere.
This is a photo of what children should be doing, playing in the mud and loving it. This photo was taken at Lake Eyre and the mud here is especially sticky.
